Dealing with anxiety/panic attacks!

at August 29, 2014 0 comments
A/N Before you read this, please be aware that I am NOT a doctor, this is just how I deal with panic attacks. If you have any concerns please do not hesitate to speak with someone, your health is very important!

Panic attacks are something that can affect our day-to-day lives and are a horrible experience to go through. However they can be controlled and not dangerous in the sense that a panic attack will not leave you physically harmed.

Here are my personal tips/advice on how to avoid/control a panic attack

        Control your breathing!
Take deep breathes in through your nose and then out your mouth. If your breathing is uneven, you'll start to feel a tingling sensation in your hands/ feet/ ankles. To control your breathing is very important when having a panic attack because it can also take away the thoughts of not being able to breathe.

        Exercise
If you experience regular panic attacks then exercising can be very helpful. Even just a walk round the block can help you clear your mind and focus.

        Keep focused on something positive!
When having a panic attack, it sometimes feels like this feeling of anxiousness is never going pass. IGNORE IT!! Focus on something positive such as a happy memory or someone you admire and ignore the feeling that a panic attack bring because the anxiousness and feeling of panic shall soon pass over.

        Speak Up!
If you are having panic attacks regulary or they are starting to interfere with your life then speak up. Your mental health is just as important as your physical health and if you speak up now, then you can get better. Help is out there and you have nothing to be afraid of.

There was a season in full house when aunt Becky would wear lovely long dresses. I decided to go with a more formal outfit for Aunt Becky because there wasn't many times when we saw her get 'dressed up'.

Regarding jewellery, I feel like Becky has quite an expensive taste (I'm not sure why, just a thought). With that in mind I looked for expensive-looking jewellery yet still at a reasonable price.

In one episode, Becky teaches DJ how to wear make-up and taught her that less is more! It's the exact reason why I put together some naked palettes because in my opinion they are one of the best brands for a natural look.

I hope you enjoy this outfit as much as I enjoyed making it :)

Love you all,

Bee

I am here to help you re-live your childhood by creating a Full a House outfit inspired by series. The first part is none other than Uncle Jesse!

The part most representative of Jesse is either the Elvis shirt or the leather jacket, you can decide! Elvis and leather were Jesse's key attributes because let's face it... If he was an animal he would most likely be a cow.

My personal favourite part of the outfit is most definitely the shoes! Just lately I've been LOVING black boots and I've had my eye on a pair for a while.

I hope you like the first part of the full house series and are just excited as me for the rest to come :D

A step-by-step guide on how to survive the new school year!

at August 15, 2014 0 comments
You may have noticed with all the 'back to school' posts that it's getting to that time of year again where everyone is getting ready to go back to school *cries an ocean*. Whether you want to know it or not, it's a reality we all have to face. Do not fret though, we can face it together ;). Here I have a put together a step-by-step guide on surviving the next school year!

Step One!
Get Everything Prepared and Organised
It may sound blatantly obvious but both preparation and organisation are quite important. Getting organised shall be harder for some than it is for others but here are a few tips of mine that can help you which has certainly helped me in the past.

  • Purchase an academic diary! I used one of these during my first year of college and it helped me with remembering homework and important dates such as exams.
  • Try and do homework as and when it is assigned. Obviously this isn't always possible but procrastination isn't your friend and I'm sure the next episode of Hemlock Grove or Orange is the New Black can wait.
  • Get your bag ready the night before. I only started doing this when I started college and it did help me sleep better at night because I knew I had everything I needed for the next day.
Step Two!
Join Extra Curricular Activities
This is a great way to meet new people and make friends with others who have the same interests as you do! Not a lot of people tend to take extra curricular very seriously but if you're looking for something to do then it might be for you.

(You can put things like this on college applications)

Step Three
Stay Calm and Have Fun
Just remember that school isn't everything and you deserve a break once in a while. The most important thing I have learnt over the past year is that an exam doesn't define you and doesn't necessarily equate to success.

I hope you enjoyed reading this step-by-step guide of surviving the next school year and it helped you in just the slightest way possible. I hope you all have a lovely school year. Work hard and enjoy yourself.
Thank you,
Bee

Outfit inspired by Troye Sivan

Outfit inspired by Troye Sivan

Grey jumper
$81 - sugarhillboutique.com

River Island short skirt
$42 - riverisland.com

Vans purple shoes
$84 - zalando.co.uk

If you don't know who Troye is then carry on reading and I'll explain!
Troye is a YouTuber who wrote a song which was inspired by John Green's book, 'the fault in our stars'. It is also called 'the fault I'm our stars' and was one of the inspirations for this outfit.
I decided on choosing items that were pale blue (like the skirt) because that was the colour of the title page of the fault in our stars.
My absolute favourite parts to this outfit is the grey jumper and the vans. They are both so so cute and I really love the contrast between the blue and purple on the shoes, I feel it gives a knock-off galaxy effect.

JULY FAVOURITES :D

at August 10, 2014 0 comments

It's the beginning of a new month which can only mean one thing... It's time for the very well known July favourites! Last month there were quite a few things that caught my eye and if you're interested in finding out what they are, then you can carry on reading.

1. Skinology tea tree face scrub

This has done absolute miracles for my skin! Ok, maybe not miracles but I am impressed. I've been using this product most mornings for 3 weeks. My skin is definitely clearer and it also feels a lot softer. Over the three weeks, I have been looking less tired and my skin has been looking a little brighter which makes me feel very happy.

2. Lasting Perfection foundation by collection in ivory (2)

I really struggle with foundations because I'm very pale so it's hard to get a match for my skin colour. This is in my favourites because it is an almost-perfect match for me and I don't need to use too much for a nice coverage. It blends quite nicely and has a good finish to it.

3. Sia - 1000 forms of fear

I recently found Sia on YouTube when I was looking for new music, I had actually stumbled upon her music video for her latest single, Chandelia. I was so in awe by her voice, I just had to find out more about her. It turns out that she writes all of her own music (impressive) as well other peoples music too (even more impressive). I find Sia very interesting and mysterious. However she's also very funny and has a child-like personality. The best way I can describe her is... She has a story and she uses it.

4. Dance Moms

(Photo found on google)

I found this show through both Tanya Burr and one of her 'favourites' videos as well as Sia and her Chandalia music video as Maddie (second from right) was featured in the video. When I first started watching it, I wasn't quite sure what to think, although after watching half of the first season I concluded that it was both funny and entertaining. I'm quite excited to see more.

There we have it! My July favourites! I hope your July was just as good as mine and may you have a lovely august!

-Bee

Side note: I apologise that this took a while for me to post. It should have been up in Wednesday but took OVER 24 HOURS to upload and then it failed *crying emoji*. It's here now though and I hope you enjoyed reading it just as much as I enjoyed writing it.

Outfit inspired by... Eva Longoria

at August 04, 2014 0 comments

Eva is known by many as her famous role on 'Desperate Housewives' as Gabrielle Solis. Or you may know her for her very well spoken speeches within the political community such as President Obama's re-election in 2012.
With everything that Eva does, she always does it gracefully and with her head held high. She shows confidence with whatever she does which makes her look good in whatever she wears and whatever she looks like.
All the items that I chose for the outfit are from New Look (I shall leave links at the end). I think this outfit would be great for a night out or a dinner date.
